July 1st, 2009, Santa Maria, CA  -  The SLO Rattlers (17-8, 8-6 CCL) defeated the Santa Maria Pilots (6-17) 4-1 in a non-league contest.

Starting Pitcher Jared Winder (2-0) pitched 5 innings of one-hit ball, and allowed only one run.  Winder had 5 strikeouts, and allowed only on base on balls.

The Rattlers bullpen shut down the Pilots the rest of the way.  Adam Clerici (7) retired the side in the bottom of the 9th inning on only 5 pitches to record his 7th save of the summer.

Offensively, DH Josh Jackson once again led the way.  Jackson hit a 2-Run Home Run over the left field fence in the 3rd inning, scoring SS Robert Vickers, who had reached previously on an error.  Jackson went 2 for 4 on the day, with 1HR, 2 RBI's, 1 Run Scored, and 1 BB.

The Rattlers play again on Friday Night, July 3rd, 2009.  They are hosting the Urban Academy Barons for a 3-game California Collegiate League Series.   Game one is Friday at 6:05pm.
Immediately following the game is a Fireworks Show by Pyro Spectaculars. 
Admission for Friday's game and Fireworks Show is $10 in advance, and $12 the night of the event.
