June 30th, 2009, Santa Maria, CA - The SLO Rattlers (16-8, 8-7 CCL) rallied for a 5-3 Victory over the Santa Maria Pilots (6-16).
The game was tied 3-3 going into the 9th inning, but the Rattlers were able to score two runs to secure the victory. SS Mike Miller hit a chopper that bounced over the third baseman's head to start the inning. DH Josh Jackson was able to successfully sacrifice Miller to second. 1B Joe Weik then hit a single up the middle to score Miller, Weik advanced to second on the throw home. Weik then scored on C Beau Fraser's single to left.
Starting pitcher Jared Levin pitched 4.1 innings, giving up all 3 Pilots runs, had 4 strikeouts, and walked 4 batters. LHP Tommy Erlin, LHP Danny Price, and RHP Adam Clerici collectively held the Pilots to one hit the rest of the way. Price (2-1) got the victory, and Clerici (6) got the save.
Offensively, 1B Joe Weik went 3-4, with two 2B's, 1 RBI, and 3 runs scored. C Beau Fraser was 2-5, with one 2B, and 3 RBI's.
The Rattlers travel to Santa Maria again tomorrow, Wednesday July 1st, 2009. Game time is 4:30pm.
