June 21st, 2009, San Luis Obispo, CA - The SLO Rattlers (12-5, 5-4 CCL) avoided the home series sweep by beating the Conejo Oaks (7-8, 6-6) today at Sinsheimer Stadium.
Starting pitcher Ritchie Mirowski (3-0) pitched 6 scoreless innings, scattering 6 hits, and striking out 6. Mirowksi's family surprised him with a visit to see him pitch today. Mirowski has now pitched 20 innings this summer without allowing a run to cross the plate.
Adam Clerici got the final two outs to record his 3rd save of the summer.
Offensively, the Rattlers were led by 2B Evan Busby, who went 1-4. and scored 2 runs, and Joe Weik who went 1-3, with 2 RBI's and 1 BB.
The Rattlers next game is Tuesday Night, June 23rd, 2009, when they host the Santa Maria Valley Packers in Game 1 of a 3-game CCL home series.
Tuesday is Neighbor Appreciation Night.
