August 2nd, 2009, San Luis Obispo, CA - The SLO Rattlers (27-19) completed their 2009 season Sunday afternoon by defeating their SLO-town rivals, the SLO Blues (40-12), 8-5 at Sinsheimer Stadium.RHP Joey Parsons (2-1) earned the victory, pitching 3 innings, giving up 2 unearned runs, 3 hits, and had 2 strikeouts.
LHP Bob Mott (1) pitched 2 innings of 1 hit relief to earn the save.
Offensively, 1B Joe Weik provided the key hit, blasting a Grand Slam to left field in the top of the 7th inning. Weik finished 1 for 4, with 1 HR, 4 RBI's, 1 run scored, and 1 BB.
3B Chad Reynolds went 3 for 4, with 1 2B.
DH Robert Vickers went 1 for 3, with 1 RBI, 2 runs scored, and 2 BB.
The Rattlers win the season series against the Blues, 3-2.
Both teams are now 5-5 All-Time in the Battle of SLO.
The Rattlers are having their end of season Player Awards BBQ tonight at 6pm.
